Olympiacos: “At the center of European sports”

It was held with absolute success on Saturday in the “Melina Mekouri” hall of the Peace and Friendship Stadium on International Conference on “Multi-Sports and Local Government”which concluded the two-day event organized by our Association with the cooperation of S.E.F., the Municipality of Piraeus, the Region of Attica and the Club for Unesco Piraeus and Islands, in the context of the celebrations of the 10 years since its foundation of EMCA.

After the General Assembly that was held on Friday in the context of the conference that had Olympiakos, which was one of the founding members of the European Union of Multi-Sports Associations, as well as Piraeus and the assumption of the presidency by the representative of the club as the center and as an honored club Ms. Christina Tsiligiri, on Saturday the established meeting of the leading European multi-sport clubs took place.

At the International Conference on “Multisport and Local Government”, with the presence of representatives of European member groups of EMCA (European Multisport Club Association), of political and state life, there was an exchange of views regarding accessibility and inclusion in sports infrastructures, cooperation with the local government for the creation of adequate sports facilities, as well as the encouragement of participation in sports activities.

In the first part of the discussion, there was a report and an exchange of views with a central theme, what multisports means for local governments and how the two parties can help each other. The second part was about the green development of sports and the energy upgrade of sports facilities. Finally, the third and last part of the international conference was about how multiculturalism can be developed through cooperation with local government. During the conference, many interesting opinions were expressed by the representatives of the groups and the State, who were present in the “Melina Merkouri” hall.
