Stefanos Tsitsipas will continue to compete with Apostolos Tsitsipas as coach, as he made clear in his statements before the Shanghai Masters.
The leading Greek tennis player emphasized that his father is by his side even when he is not there with his physical presence, emphasizing that he does not intend to change him.
“My father was always by my side. Even when he wasn’t there and people couldn’t see him, he was by my side, digitally. He is here to stay, I have no intention of ever changing him or getting rid of him. People will always make up rumors or try to ruin what you have with someone very close to you in any way. He is a man who will never be out“, he initially reported.
As for his collaboration with Mark Filippoussi, with whom he collaborated in the tournaments of Los Cabos, Toronto, Cincinnati and the US Open, he clarified:
“Mark Philippoussis is no longer a member of the team. I wanted to try a coach and see how it goes. It was a bit uncoordinated in a number of ways. The absence of my father made me feel like I was losing part of my identity as a player. I wasn’t able to adapt to the new ways of Mark, who I admired and loved watching when I was younger».
Tsitsipas clarified the landscape both for his coach and father Apostolos, and for Mark Filippoussi. https://t.co/o7GKA7VnLr
