Olympiacos “cleaned” the weak Dynamo Tbilisi in brief proceedings 19-6 in the capital of Georgia for the second match of the Men’s Polo Champions League and did the absolute best in the top class European inter-club competition.
Olympiakos’ start to the match was impressive, after taking a 5-0 lead. Genidounias opened the scoring with a penalty, with Dimos making it 5-0. At 46”, Lonchar on the player above made it 6-0 at the end of the first period. All six goals were scored by different players, Nikolaidis, Papanastasiou and Foudoulis.
In the second period, Dynamo started stronger and went down 2-6, but the “red and whites” escaped 9-2 with Fundoulis, who made it 10-3 at the end of the half.
Dynamo started with a goal in the third eight minutes, reducing to 10-4, but Olympiacos continued at the same pace. Nicolaidis scored for 11-4, while Lonchar scored on the man up for 12-4, before Gouvis made it 13-4 at the end of the third period.
In the fourth period, Nikolaidis scored 14-44 and Gillas scored 15-4. Dynamo Tbilisi reduced to 15-5, but Dimos made it 16-5 and Nikolaidis made the final 19-6.
