Kako Kawaguchi will compete in Chania for the rest of this season. NOX announced the acquisition of the Japanese regional for the next year, so that they can be strengthened aggressively.
The 24-year-old will compete in Europe for the first time in her career, having been part of the national team of the “land of the rising sun” at the Olympic Games hosted by Tokyo in 2021.
In detail, the announcement:
“The Nautical Club of Chania announces the addition of Japanese regional player Kako Kawaguchi for the women’s water polo team.
Kawaguchi competed in the recently held Asian Games
as in the city of Hangzhou, China, so he is coming in full form to join our team coach, Giorgos Katsoulakis.
Kawaguchi, who is 24 years old (14/7/1999), competed in the 2021 Olympics held in her hometown of Tokyo, and has also competed in three world championships, two of which took place in 2019 and one in 2015.
At the collegiate level, this is the first time he has gone outside of Japan and will therefore compete in Europe.
