The women’s table tennis team of Panathinaikos experienced a second defeat in Linares, Spain for stage 2 of the Europe Cup, this time with a 3-0 set by Almendra of the host country and remained in the third place of the third group. He was thus excluded from the continuation, however, he can keep the generally worthy effort and presence, as he was tested again this year at high levels, first in the Champions League and now in the second European competition.
In the Iberian Peninsula, Panathinaikos competed with Katerina Toliou, Konstantina Paridis, Ana Tofand and had Sotiris Humos in charge.
For Panathinaikos, Friday’s match against Constanta turned out to be decisive. From the moment she lost to the Romanians with 2-3 sets, the chances of occupying one of the first two places in the group and qualifying for the next phase were significantly reduced.
Indeed, Almendra presented herself very strong, with a driver of Chinese origin, and with her second victory, she won first place in the third group. Toliu had a chance to equalize in the second singles match, but was held to five sets and later recorded a 3-0 final for the Spanish club.
With a win and three points, Constanta took the second privileged position.
