He stood tall in Milan Juventus! “The Lady” was the winner in her derby 10th matchday of Serie Aas with the goal of the former “rosonero”, Manuel Locatelli prevailed 1-0 and reduced its gap to Stefano Pioli’s team by a point.
He competed with ten footballers from 40′ Milan, after Tiao was sent off with direct Red cardafter an unorthodox reversal in Ken.
In fact, Locatelli’s goal is… significant, as on October 22, 2016 he had scored as a Milan player against Juventus, for their 9th game Serie A of that season!
The match
The game started with Milan having possession and threatening first in the 6th minute. Development from the left, with the Raiders gaining possession and shooting from outside the area with the ball going over the posts.
The home team increased the pressure and in the 14th minute they missed a great opportunity to take the lead. Great personal effort from Leao from the left, it’s parallel to Giroud, who shoots but Szézny instinctively clears for a corner.
The minutes ticked by and Juventus responded, at 23′. From the free kick the ball ended up in the wall then it reached Kostic who shot hard, out.
In the 37′ the Rossoneri pressed into the area again, with Riders heading the ball wide. But three minutes later, came the phase that changed the match. Deep balls into the backs of the Milan defence, with Ken speeding away and Tiao to bring him down, with the referee correctly showing the red card. In fact, Pioli hastily made a change, replacing Pulisic with Kaloulou, wanting to fill the gap.
Just before the end of the first half, Juventus came within a breath of the goal. Milik’s cross from the right into the heart of the Milan defence, Kane made the save but missed with the referee blowing the whistle seconds later.
The pace in the second half was not the same with Juventus having the initiative of the movements and “freezing” the pace in order to bring Milan up. So in 63′ he managed to find the way to the net. Locatelli took the ball outside the area, shot the ball against Krunic and ended up in the net for 0-1!
From that point onwards the “Bianconeri” completely controlled the match and in the 83rd minute it came close to 2-0 with Vlahovic shooting outside the area and Mirante making an impressive save.
Until the end, nothing changed and Juventus “escaped” from the home of Milan with a big “double”.
