At a time when Ukraine is said to be one step ahead of the war with Russia, one of the country’s greatest athletes, Vladimir Klitschko has decided to enlist in its reserve army.
The former world champion in the heavyweight category appeared yesterday at the competent office together with his brother and signed the relevant applications after their presence at the opening of a recruitment center of the Territorial Defense Forces in the capital.
“It is love, love for my city, my home, my family, my neighbors, my daughter that brought me here today, that I took this initiative and now I am participating in this territorial defense.”said Vladimir Klitschko with his brother Vitaly, who is also the mayor of Kiev to stress the need for a diplomatic solution but, “If not, we must prepare to take up arms and defend the country.” as he mentioned.
