Manzios: “It is not an easy period for us, we live with our absences”

by

THE Mars is called upon to put behind them the defeat by Atromitos and return to winning ways in the away match against Volos (11/11/23, 20:00) before the break for the national teams.

In the established statements to Nova’s camera, the coach of the “yellows”, Akis Manzioshe spoke about the week that his team went through after the bad performance against Atromitos, but also about the difficult period that Aris is going through with the many absences.

His statements to Nova’s camera in detail:

Initially, when asked about this difficult week, he answered optimistically:

After a defeat, the next day is not easy. However, after every result, be it victory or defeat, we must look at the next day, move forward. We worked on that with the players all this week. Aside from the psychological part, we looked to find out what was wrong and lost to Atromitos. We looked for what went wrong in some parts, but also what went well in others. Our effort was to correct our mistakes and present ourselves better in the next game».

Regarding whether psychologically and spiritually the players of Aris overcame the previous defeat, he was clear:

We have to leave her behind! Like I said, the day after a loss isn’t the best. From there on there is the experience to manage some defeat and move on».

Regarding the many absences, which reached their peak since the start of the season during the past week, he emphasized:

Another team is missing! We have been living with our absences all this time. It’s definitely not an easy period for us… Especially when we’re talking about a team with nineteen new players, trying to find its homogeneity, facing so many problems is not the best».

In particular, regarding the many absences in defense, he said:

We will find solutions from within. We will be as solid as possible in the defensive part. The truth is that there are a lot of absences, but we worked to show up ready for the next game. When you are a big team there is a “must” and we must operate under all conditions».

And as for whether he is thinking of lining up his team with a different formation in defense (for example, with a trio of central defenders), he did not want to go into details:

This will be evaluated by tomorrow. We will also see our last practice and then we will make our decisions».

When asked how he thinks about the upcoming opponent, Volos, Manzios said:

They are a good team all the time. He has had a bad start and is not used to this. They are a good team, though, and it will be a tough game».

He was asked how he asks his players to approach the game at Panthessalikos and he replied:

We want balance and stability in the game. Not to have these changes in our performance from half to half. This is something that needs to be fixed – and will be fixed over time, that’s for sure».
