Last year’s winners repeated their success in 5 kilometers of the 40th Anniversary Athens Marathon.
THE Nestor Kolios he continued his very good performances in the season and emerged as the winner of the distance with 14.48, a title he won again in 2022.
“It was a very nice race, although I was chasing from the beginning to set the course record, but I didn’t manage to do it this year either. I’m happy with the ride, I’ll keep coming and I promise I’ll break the record at some point“, said the athlete with the end of the race,” said the winner of the race.
Giorgos Kyrtsis finished second in the competition with 14.55 and Orpheas Ioannou finished third with 14.55.
THE Maria Kassou in a race at her pace she managed to defend her last year’s victory finishing in 16.46. The athlete has been preparing for next year for some time and is still not in the desired competitive condition.
“It was a good start, a good premiere. I finished the games later this year, so I started training later. It’s a period when I’m looking for my footing and for me the race was a great training test. I am happy with the performance, although I would like the course record I have from last year. It’s my second win in a row and I love this race. The atmosphere is awesome“, commented the athlete of Stavros Karre.
The silver medal was won by Melissa Anastasaki with 16.55 and the bronze by Denisa Bala with 17.03.
