by

Two teams that have been in excellent form lately will face each other in the empty – due to punishment – OAKA.

THE Panathinaikos welcomes her AEK Betsson BC (20/11, 17:15, www.sporfm.gr, News Bulletin 247, ERT3), in the derby with which the 7th matchday of the Stoiximan Basket League will fall. On the one hand, there are the “greens”. the only undefeated team so far in the league with 6-0while on the other hand the Union is at 3-3having two defeats in as many away matches that he has played this year.

“Clover” is in very good momentum at the moment, having five-game winning streak in all events. The past week was ideal for his team Ergin Atamanas he went 2/2 on Euroleague in OAKA. At first, defeated Zalgiris in a thriller 73-71 and in his last match, Panathinaikos prevailed 90-76 her Virtus Bologna. Unavailable for the “greens” will of course be the Juancho Hernangometh and Ioannis Papapetrou. From there, it remains to be seen which foreigner Ataman will “cut” for the final six he will use in the match.

On the other hand, AEK Betsson BC is also in good condition, which counts three consecutive wins in all competitions. The Union’s last match was for the championship, where it hosted Colossus of Rhodeswhom he defeated comfortably 93-74. Yes, good for him Joan Platha and his team is that he had no European obligations during the week, so he will not have extra strain. The Union does not have serious competition problems either, so it remains to be seen which foreigners will make up the six.

Finally, this will be it 150th derby between Panathinaikos and AEK Betsson BC at the league level, with the tide overwhelmingly leaning in favor of the “green” with 107 wins, vs 42. The even more impressive statistic in favor of the “cloverleaf” has to do with derbies played with it as a home team during the years of the professional league, where the record is at 42-1! The Union celebrated its only “double” on November 3, 1996 (had prevailed 94-77), with Panathinaikos counting since then 36 consecutive wins against her!

The referees of the match will be Poursanidis, Tiganis and Tsonos.
