The most important thing for Elina Jengo is that even in the difficult moments of her career she managed to stay focused on her goal. “We’ve been training hard for a while now. I’m really looking forward to next year. In 2023 maybe some things didn’t go as well as I would have liked. However, I can say that in the end it was a good year.
I learned a lot last season, most importantly that in order to achieve my goals I have to have fun participating in the races. When this doesn’t happen even my technique is not right.
In 2023 I also suffered a lot from my shoulder and this was also a parameter that did not allow me to present myself as well as I would have liked. I’m very well, I’m working hard, so that next year I can claim my best in the important competitions”, the European javelin champion initially emphasized and added:
“On December 3rd, together with Odysseus Mouzenidis and our coach, we leave for South Africa, where we will stay until the 24th of the same month. I am looking forward to the preparation, as there we will find the ideal facilities, good weather and high level athletes.
The aim is to have our first race of the year at the end of February in the winter hurling cup, then it’s the European hurling cup. This year, I decided to put my school aside for a bit, so as to limit both travel and fatigue and devote myself exclusively to my preparation for the Olympics and the Europeans.”
