Limnios: “Panathinaikos showed their trust in me, it was an easy decision to come”

by

The latest acquisition of Panathinaikos, o Dimitris Limniosspoke to the “trefoil” channel and emphasized, among other things, that the decision to wear the green was easy and that the team showed confidence in him.

In detail what he said on PAO TV:

-What were his first thoughts when he learned of Panathinaikos’ interest:

“My first thoughts were positive and my decision to come to Panathinaikos was much easier because the clear plan they had for me and the trust they showed in me after a difficult injury and a difficult period for me was very important .

This is the most important thing for every football player. She wants to feel trusted and that’s what I kept. I came to a very big team with clear goals from the beginning of the season and my decision to come to Panathinaikos was easy”.

-What the serious injury he had taught him:

“First of all, I have never been injured in my football career. It was an injury and… a good one they say. It was an unfortunate moment but it happens to every footballer. We’ve seen too many footballers get cruciate. It was something unprecedented for me, I had never felt it before. It was something very difficult.

Especially when I got it the pain was unbearable. And in the first month and a half of my recovery I was in a lot of pain, but my friends helped me, my family helped me… I overcame it and my knee is in very good condition right now. I’m doing my mobilization and some exercises before training starts and I’m over it and we’re moving on.”

-For his goal at Panathinaikos:

“I came to help the team. I know the goals he has set since the beginning of the year and I came to help achieve them to the maximum extent. I need some time to adjust, to see my teammates moving around the field and for them to see me. And slowly start fighting to help the team game by game.”

-About how his first days at Panathinaikos were:

“I know some of my teammates from the National Team. And the rest of the children welcomed me very nicely. Things went very well, I did the medical tests, the ergometrics and my first training session with the team. I feel very comfortable and very beautiful, I’m happy about that and I hope it will be like this and even better in the future.”

-On whether he has a competitive image of Panathinaikos:

“Yesterday (Wednesday 3/1) I saw the team up close for the first time. I had seen some games while I was in Germany and could because I had a heavy schedule. In general, they have played very good football, they are one point away from the top of the standings and they have very good players. Yesterday the team played very well (including the match against PAS Ioannina). He could have scored more goals and I’m excited and I want to slowly get into the mood more and start competing.”

-On whether he returns more “full” to Greece after 3.5 years in Germany and the Netherlands:

“What I have kept inside me is the calmness I have acquired all these years abroad. I worked very well, I improved as a footballer and as a person. I have matured as a footballer because as you grow older you mature. And inside the field, whether with the ball or without the ball, what I have kept from the outside is the mentality and the calm there.”
