The “present” in the match will be given by the family of Yiannis Ioannidis, namely his wife, Mrs. Gioula Giuselopoulou-Ioannidis, and their daughter Eleni-Theodora.
The legendary coach, “Xantheos” as he was dubbed by the “Patriarch” of AEK’s reporting, Phaedon Konstantoudakis, “sowed the seed” and the successes of modern AEK “germinated” afterwards.
The brilliant participation of AEK in the F4 of the single Euroleague of 1997-1998, with rivals Benetton (of Željko Obradovic) in the victorious semi-final and the famous Kinder Bologna (of Ettore Messina) in the Final, was a supersport for the era and its supreme moment , after of course the 17 honored trophies of our glorious History.
With Giannis Ioannidis, the “Queen” participated in two other Finals (Greek Championship 1996-1997, Greek Cup 1997-1998).
“Xantheos” duly honored AEK, even after his escape from it, while he watched “for life” several of its matches during the Renaissance period.
He also responded to the call of Mr. Makis Angelopoulou and Tasos Boulmetis and starred with his testimonies in the filming of the epic film “1968”.
