Menian on the racist attack: “We cannot play like this – There must be heavy punishments”

THE Mike Menian shouted “finally an end” to the tolerance of racist behavior in the stadiums. Her French goalkeeper Milan reacted to the monkey chants and left with his teammates for a few minutes from the match against Udinese.

We have a very strong group, we are a family and everyone came to support me. We returned to the field determined to fight even harder for victory, because the best answer is to win. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (acting advisor to the management) came to the dressing room and told me to stay strong and that the best answer would be to win“, added the 28-year-old ace.

And, indeed, Milan got the victory with an upset (2-3), although for Menian the biggest victory will be that the racists stay at home from now on. “There should be very heavy punishments, because just talking doesn’t do anything anymore. We need to help all players who experience such behaviors. Those who do such things should stay at home and not be allowed to come to the stadium. When you love football, you want to go to the field, shout for your team and teach your children the same. But when young children see their parents or friends acting like this, it’s really embarrassing. This is the only way we players can react by reporting what is happening.
