A new environment, initially in the Stoiximan Super League and then in the entire spectrum of Greek sports, are intended to shape the new measures to be implemented from February 12with the return of fans to the stadiums of the major football league, as stated by the Deputy Minister of Sports Yannis Vroutsis.

February 12 is the deadline recorded in the Legislative Content Act, so after 12 the stadiums will reopen, but in a new environment which has conditions to maintain the possibility of being open to fans. Not to close everything together horizontally, but now the sanctions because they are too painful, if and as long as they fall into them, then unfortunately for the football corporation, for each team they will suffer the consequences of the sports delinquency… February 12 is the tree as I characterize it, while after 12 is the forest, it is the future that we now have to enter a new environment which will have all the specifications that exist in other European countries. That is, cameras that will work normally, there will be a framework for their operation, they will see all sides of the field“, he initially reported in the first program.

In the vast majority of stadiums there are cameras from the past. However, the way they work, the quality of the cameras, the layout of the cameras, the visual capability of the cameras is not what it should be. Therefore, we are defining a new environment in which everything will be done in detail, with a design that will satisfy both the fans and the players of football“, said the Deputy Minister of Sports.

At the same time, Yiannis Vroutsis also spoke about the important role of identity: “Identity plays an important role. So within a short period of time we will know the name, surname, address and mobile number of everyone who enters the stadium because this is how it should be done. At the moment, what we are seeking is for everything to function normally. For the world to come back firstly to the stadiums and secondly to start getting back together with his family. Don’t be afraid».

Regarding the extent to which the state will manage to eliminate delinquency in the stadiums with these measures, Yiannis Vroutsis emphasized that “we are not saying we will defeat crime. If crime and violence were defeated, then with the legislation that exists both in the criminal law of the country and also in the criminal law for sports violence which is the strictest in Europe, with the nickname that exists, then there would be no violence. We aspire, we hope and we will succeed, for the playing fields to move into a new era».

Finally, regarding whether there is a case for even tougher measures to be taken at the stadiums, he answered that “there are no tougher measures. We have reached the zenith at the level of criminal procedure».

Finally, he clarified that “… we don’t want to interfere in the league. We want the league to be played as normal and the impact of the sanctions will only have to do with one thing: closing the stadium, without fans».
