The national karate team is ready for the European Adolescent, Youth, Youth and U21

The Greek national karate team left for Georgia with a full team, which will participate in the 51st European Junior Championship (Teens, Juniors, Youth and U21) from February 9 to 11.

A total of 37 representatives of Greece will be among the 1,160 from 49 countries that have declared participation. The “present” will also be given by Konstantina Chrysopoulou, in order to defend the title of European champion in the -61k U21 Kumite category, which she won last year in Larnaca. Also, the Athena Tsiakmaki, “bronze” last year in Junior Kata, has moved up to the Young Women’s age category. The great misfortune of the Greek team was An. Dafni-Pipini (U21 +84k) who was injured one day before the departure and was left out of the mission.

The matches will be held at the “New Sports Palace” in Tbilisi, from Friday 9/2 to Sunday 11/2. The Greek team is accompanied by the coaches Spyros Margaritopoulos, Dimitris Triantaphyllis, Mariza Soumbasaki and George Tzanos. The head of the mission will be the member of the ELOK technical committee, Vassilis Tsiakmakis.

Seven Greek judges will also be in Tbilisi, Dimitris Anastasiadis, Dimitris Arseniadis, Panagiotis Gorezis, Yiannis Kanellis, Giorgos Kampanos, Nikos Panetsidis and Franzeska Tsirigoti.
