Ukrainian skier Valentyna Kaminska, 34, who participated in the skiing competitions at the Winter Olympics in Beijing, tested positive for a drug test. The announcement was made by the organization of the Games.

According to ITA, the international testing agency, different stimulant substances were found in the sample taken from the athlete in Beijing. It was the first case of doping recorded at the China-hosted event.

The test was done last Thursday (10) in Zhangjiakou, where the tests took place. The ITA notified the athlete and provisionally suspended her.

Despite the use of anabolic steroids, Kaminska did not get good results. In the individual sprint, she was 70th. In the 10 km in classic style, she was only placed 79th.

The most talked about doping case at the Games so far is that of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva, 15. But her positive test result, communicated during Beijing 2022, was referring to a competition held in Moscow on December 25 of last year.
