The home defeat by a score 94-85 by AEK Betsson BC met Saturday night o PAOKthus losing the upper hand to “Union” in a possible tie between the two teams, in the battle they are fighting to enter the top six of the league.

After the end of the match, the coach of PAOK, Stathis Neratzakishe spoke about the team’s bad time in the 4th period, while also referring to the lack of one scorer since the beginning of the season.

The statements of Stathis Neratzakis in detail:

“Let’s congratulate AEK. Her dominance was fair. The main reason was the defensive part. We couldn’t find solutions to deal with this problem, especially in painted. I think that was the most important reason for the defeat.”

For PAOK’s 4/22 triples: “It is the No. 1 problem since the beginning of the season. In very few matches we were effective from the perimeter. The team does not have shooters to execute either from screens or off the dribble. By trying to open up the court with spot shots, we could perhaps increase the percentage. Unfortunately we don’t have any shooters to rely on and find the shots we want.”

On his team’s poor stretch in the 4th period: “There were some difficult shots, AEK have the players with the personality to make them. The image of the fourth period, however, cannot be explained. We should see in the video the mistakes that I also made primarily during this time. We basically lost in the first five minutes of the 4th period, we lost touch with the score and we didn’t have the mental strength to endure until the end.”

As for AEK taking the lead in the end: “We tried to get back into the game through the attack. The defense would give us the push to either run and find easy baskets, or stay solid for 40 minutes. The defensive part didn’t work well, because the players were thinking how to execute in the attack to get into the game.”
