Olympiacos “cleaned” PAOK and qualified for the final of the Cup!

It was imposed by overthrowing PAOK and advanced to its final Final 4 of the Men’s Volleyball Greece Cup which takes place at the Neapolis indoor gym in Larissa, the Olympiacos!

Despite losing the first set 25-22, the “red and whites” fought back, consistently found solutions to their attacks and, taking the momentum, managed to reach the victory with 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-19) and qualify for Saturday’s grand final (30/3, 20:15), where they will face Milos, with whom they also faced in the semi-final phase of the Volley League. The only negative for the winners is his injury Soupwho retired from the match at the end of the first set.

The first set was uneventful from the start, with Olympiakos taking the first lead of two points, at 6-4 and 8-6. Thanks to a 6-0 run, PAOK took a 12-8 lead and then kept their safety lead up to 22-17 before the Reds cut it to 20-22. However, Milenkoski’s players managed to reach the 25-22putting their team in the driver’s seat.

Riding the momentum, PAOK led 7-5 at the start of the second set, but Olympiacos fought back and went ahead 13-11, thanks to three straight aces from Stern. Castellani’s team continued to be firmly ahead (19-16), withstanding PAOK’s counterattack and tying the sets at 1-1 (25-18).

In the third set, Olympiacos took a 6-2 lead and having improved their block, they reached +9 (15-6), before making it 2-1 comfortably (25-16). The picture in the semi-final was similar in its last set, with Olympiakos taking the lead early on and not looking back, despite PAOK’s last-ditch effort, which however only managed to get closer to 21-19, before leader of the winners with 26 points, Stern, shape the final 25-19 with three consecutive aces!
