Letter from traveling PAOK fans: “There was indifference from the Bruges authorities and from you, Mr. Tzitzikosta, Angeloudi”

by

With a statement issued by the PAOK fans who were in Bruges for the quarter-final of the Europa Conference league, they succeeded against those who created the events at “Jan Breidel” and launched an attack against Apostolos Tzitzikostas and Stelios Angeloudis.

In detail, the announcement:

“Four days after the brutal and unjustified violence that we experienced as PAOK fans in Belgium, we receive the absolute indifference of the ‘lords’ of Thessaloniki. The glossy reports of the media not only of Thessaloniki, but also of the whole of Greece, about the provocative way in which we PAOK fans were treated in Bruges, did not move either Mr. Tzitzikostas or Mr. Angeloudis.

The descriptions of the injured, of those who were left out of the field despite the fact that they had tickets, of those unjustly arrested who experienced humiliation by the Belgian police (who acted in a fascist manner), were not an issue for both the Macedonian Regional Governor and the Mayor of Thessaloniki, who pre-election ran from neighborhood to neighborhood, showing their sympathy for PAOK, at the same time frequently visiting Toumba for obvious reasons.

Your defiant indifference mr. Tzitzikosta – Angeloudi was recorded and you can be sure that it will not be forgotten. Those of us who were in Belgium and experienced unprecedented situations at our expense will take care of this.

We address you who a few days ago surrendered Aristotelous Square and allowed its vandalism (there are related reports in the media about the destruction and damage recorded) for the birthday of another group in Thessaloniki.

Thessalonica does not forget. He is not ungrateful, he is not arrogant and, in no case, he does not allow Mr. Tzitzikosta and Mr. Angeloudis to consider him a ‘clown’. Your indifference to such a serious issue that borders on the national issue is more than provocative. We don’t need anyone to defend us. We defended ourselves and in the first phase (we expect even more and substantial results), PAOK PAOK defended us.

We expected actions from you, similar to those of the Mayor of Bruges, who gave the right to the Belgian police to treat us worse than terrorists… We want to congratulate the links of PAOK for their initiative to come to the European Parliament and prove that PAOK is more than just a football team.

It’s an idea and its organized fans hold up the flag of the club’s dignity and ideals.”
