Rivers v Reddick outburst: ‘I saved him from Milwaukee and his career took off’

by

This season of Milwaukee Bucks ended ingloriously, with the “deers” stopping in the first round of the NBA playoffs. His coming Doc Rivers in the technical leadership of the club did not bring the desired results, with his company Giannis Antetokounmpo to know for the second season in a row the elimination from the “16” phase.

A few months ago, the former basketball player and current broadcaster, JJ Reddick, launched a public attack on Doc Rivers, stressing, among other things, that he does not take his responsibilities, but “loads” them on his players!

The answer may have been delayed, but it has come, with the Bucks coach… lifting the glove and declaring that he was the one who launched his career and made him a key player and how o Reddick exudes malice since at some point his contract with the Clippers was not renewed.

For the record, the two had co-existed for four seasons with the Los Angeles team.

Doc Rivers’ statements in detail:

“JJ has had a problem with me for a while, but I’m okay with that. When you coach, you are likely to be blamed. In his case, we just didn’t give him a new contract.

We were at the Clippers and I cut his minutes because he wasn’t effective in the playoffs. Everyone knows it. He recorded his best numbers with a certain coach and you have him right now in front of you. I rescued him from Milwaukee and gave him a starter role. From that point on, his career took off. It’s obvious that he doesn’t like something, but I don’t have a problem with him.”
