Wherever… he stands and wherever he finds himself, o Matias Almeida he does not miss the opportunity to express his love for AEK.

The Union coach gave a long interview to a YouTube channel in his native Argentina. Part of what he said, of course, was about her AEKfor his presence in which he spoke in the best words.

In particular, “Pelados” stood so far positive environment that the team has created around him, but also in its very great similarity Greece regarding Argentina which has made him feel very comfortable.

What he said about AEK in detail:

“AEK was a big challenge, I wanted to go to Europe. It was not easy to go to Europe as a coach and the opportunity arose in Greece. They told me they wanted me, but with a contract that if they kicked me out of the first game, they wouldn’t pay me any more. And I accepted. After six months we renewed our partnership with a contract until 2028. I have a very good connection with the management and with the owner. The people there in Greece have a great passion for football. It is similar to Argentina. It’s the closest I’ve ever been to Argentina. Greeks love Argentinians. I liked that and got acclimated.

In the first season we won the double, which was the third in the club’s 100-year history. Last season we didn’t manage to win the title in the last matchday and now we are getting ready to start the preparation for the new season. They are beautiful at AEK, I like them, they treat me well too and that fills me with pride. They treat me well as a person and I like that.”
