Konrad Formela will compete in OFI next season. Men’s Volley League newcomers Cretans have announced the signing of the 29-year-old Polish international winger for next year, with the ace from the Eastern European country becoming the fourth foreigner on the roster and their fifth summer signing overall.
Formela has competed in the major European championships in the past.

“The 29-year-old Polish winger Konrad Formela (Poland, winger, 1m94, 8/3/1995), is the fifth transfer of OFI this year, who with this addition completes the four positions of foreigners in the new season in the Volley League.
The other three positions of foreign players are occupied by Marin Lescov (Moldova, passer, 26/4/1990, 1m90) this year’s transfer, as well as Matej Mihajlovic (Slovenia, diagonal, 2/7/1991, 2m00), Peetu Makinen ( Finnish, extreme 19/8/1995, 2m00), who remained in the team from last year.
The Polish Formela is the final choice of OFI coach Giannis Kalmazidis after an extensive search for the acquisition of a capable winger.
Formela has a lot of experience from the strong Polish league, while he has also competed in Italy, Romania, Austria, Switzerland. The evidence that accompanies Formela is that he is a very good striker, with a good serve and reliable reception.
