“Super Max” withstood the hammering of Norris and triumphed in the GP of Barcelona!

by

THE Max Verstappen he had to “sweat” more than ever this year, however, the result was the same again!

The “Flying Dutchman” endured the… hammering of tonight’s amazing Lando Norris, who was voted the guide of the day, winning the Barcelona Grand Prix, thus celebrating his second consecutive victory and seventh this year in the first ten races of the season!

The race in Spain was excellent from start to finish, with the Mercedes to show a competitive face, with Lewis Hamilton transforms his very good appearance with the third place on the podiumwhile his stablemate George Russell finished 4th, leaving behind them Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz!

As for the massive Hamilton, that was it his first podium after last year’s race in Mexico and overall the 198th of his great career!

The race:

Many emotions were offered by start at the Spanish Grand Prixby George Russell to make a dream start in the race, as thanks to an excellent energy and strategy, he overtook them Norris, Verstappen and Hamiltonn in the very first turn (!), moving up to first place!

The lead of her British pilot Mercedes however, it didn’t last long, as in the third round – when DRS was turned on – o Max Verstappen overtook him, at the same time when the two Ferraris… flirted with new abandon after the Canadian GP when Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz had a dangerous wheel-to-wheel contact!

Spanish GP:

The first to start the “dance” of pit stops were Russell and Saint in the 16th round, with the Mercedes driver making a slow tire change, resulting in the Spaniard coming out right behind him. Two rounds later, Mr Verstappen entered the pits, putting on the medium tire, exiting the track in 4th place. The leader, Lando Norris, as well as the runner-up at that point, Charles Leclerc, stopped for a tire change on lap 24 putting on the middle tire, exiting in 6th place and 7th place respectively, behind a big “roller coaster”!

With fresh tyres, the British McLaren pilot launched his counterattack, passing Gasly, Saint and Hamilton within nine laps, to move up to 3rd place, behind only Russell and Max! In fact, on the 35th lap, the pilot of the British team who took pole position yesterday, also overtook Russell after a great battle, being behind only the three-time World champion!

Spanish GP:

And while the gap between the first two continued to decrease, Red Bull made the decision to “pull” Max into the pits by putting the soft tire on the 45th lap, with the aim of pushing until the finale and maintaining the lead. With the Dutchman starting in 3rd place, McLaren instructed Norris to push as hard as he could before he was called to the pits 3 laps later, putting on the softs to claim victory!

In addition to the battle for the top, that of third place was also raging, between the two Mercedes. One Russell’s fatal mistake in the 52nd round, he allowed the Hamilton to overtake and move up into the top three, while the two Ferraris of Saints and Leclerc followed at a distance.

Spanish GP:

As the laps went by, the differences within the top ten didn’t change much, with the exception of the battle for the top spot, with Norris driving like… possessed, reducing his gap to Verstappen to 4.7″ on the 59th lap. In fact, the 24-year-old McLaren driver managed to gather up to 3.1″ three turns before the finale, without however having time left to actually threaten Max in the finale.

The great anxiety in the last laps was between to 4th George Russell and 5th Charles Leclerc, with the Brit keeping “tooth and nail” the Monegasque out of the DRS zone. However, the Ferrari driver managed to drop to 0.4 on the last lap, however a block in his push saw him out of contention, with Russell eventually taking his place and the checkered flag falling.

Max Verstappen, Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton took the podium.
