Shocking Christian Golomeev and Stergios Bilas in the 50m freestyle final at European Championship of Belgrade!
The two Greek swimmers had a legendary race, finishing in 1st and 2nd place respectively with times of 21.72 and 21.73!
Golomeev won the gold medal for the first time in his career in this sport in a European championship, with Bila on the other hand leaving this year’s event with three medals!
Speaking to the ERT camera after the end of the match, the two athletes they declared themselves justified for their troublemaking special mention of the appearance and the joy they gave to their coaches!
Golomeev: “We said that we want to do 1-2. We really wanted it and we did it. For me it was a very good race. It was my first European title. I have been chasing it for many years since 2012 we are in every European final, I have three medals, only the gold was missing. I am very happy!”.
Bilas: “I have no words. The race worked out for me, I was incredibly happy for 1-2. It is justification for our effort, we train with the same honor and everyone was happy. I think it’s something incredible, I can’t describe it!”
