Harilaos Trikoupis is out of the national categories

After nine consecutive seasons in the national divisions and a presence in the Basket League, o Charilaos Trikoupis in the new season he will not go down to any men’s league due to financial hardship. However, the Messolonghi group makes it clear that it is not disbanding.

Somewhere here the cycle of G.S. Charilaos Trikoupis Messolonghi ends after 9 consecutive seasons in the national categories of the EEC. From 2011 when the effort to reopen the basketball department of the Association began until today, what we have achieved and experienced together as a fist management and people look like scenes from a fairy tale. From B’ESKAVDE to the Basket League!

Unfortunately, however, time has come for the previous administration that kept the team at the highest level all these years. Despite continuous efforts to find a successor situation and enable the team to compete again this year, this was not possible.

Therefore, G.S. Charilaos Trikoupis Messolonghiou will not compete in any category at the men’s level during the 2024-2025 season BUT we categorically state that all other sections of the Association both in basketball and in athletics will WORK NORMALLY.

It must be made clear that the Association is not being dissolved. The Association will continue to offer the youth of our city an outlet for sport as usual, but the men’s division is on hiatus for the upcoming season.

Let’s hope that next year at this time the conditions will be better and that the men’s section, which has brought so much joy to this city over the years, will be able to return to where it deserves.
