Determined to get as much as she can from it Pre-Olympic Tournament is Egypt, as the team’s coach, Henrik Rodl, pointed out. The German former international ace called the mere fact that he will share the floor with Greece a great moment for his team. The interview is detailed on the EEC website:
-Your participation in the Pre-Olympic Tournament, is it a big challenge for Egypt?
“It is an honor for us to be part of the Pre-Olympic Tournament. Great work has been done in Egypt in the last 2-3 years and qualifying for the Pre-Olympics is a wonderful result for the country. It is a basketball country that is constantly improving. The future is bright and we look to chase the… miracle.”
-What image can we expect to see on the floor from your team?
“It’s a group of players who have known each other well for a number of years. They are united. You’re going to see a team play hard, fight it out for 40 minutes. To try to do everything to be able to win every game.”
-In your premiere you will face the Dominican Republic. We would like a comment on this match.
“We are the underdog in this competition. The Dominican Republic is a great and talented team, but I feel we will be ready. We have prepared properly and we will fight for the victory.”
-Your second game is against the Greek national team. What do you expect from this matchup?
“I don’t think my players have any idea what’s going to happen. This match will be a big event for them, but we will try to be competitive as much as we can.”
-The fact that you don’t have stress, is it an extra “weapon” for you compared to other groups that have pressure?
“I think everyone has pressure. My players know very well that a lot of people will see them. The country will see them and expect a lot from them. They will be excited and will do everything to win.”
