Vildosa: “Last year I didn’t get the opportunities I wanted, but I didn’t go to Olympiakos for revenge”

THE Luka Vildosa remained at Hellas but he changed basketball roof, as he left Panathinaikos AKTOR and will continue his career in Olympiakos.

The Argentinian guard spoke to the official page of the “Red Whites” about his decision to respond positively to his team Piraeusabout the difficult season he spent with the “clover”, where he didn’t get the opportunities he wanted, but also about his motivation with Olympic.

In detail what he said:

“I don’t know how many players have worn both shirts, but I, based on my experience, feel special. Two of the greatest and most historic teams in Europe, the best in Greece wanted me to be part of their organization and that is something special. Last year I was very happy to sign with Panathinaikos and now I feel even happier to belong to Olympiakos. I feel really welcome in my new team. I’ve already spoken to several people in the team and I honestly feel really good!”

On whether it was difficult for him to say “yes” to the proposal of the “red whites”: “I can’t say it was a difficult or easy decision. I know that last year I didn’t have the opportunities I wanted. I got injured and when I came back I didn’t have the chance to play the way I expected, nor the way everyone expected. So the best thing I could do to ‘fix’ this was to leave. They signed a new player in my place. There have been some offers from other teams, but to be honest when you taste the feeling of victory, you don’t want to go back… I know Olympiacos is aiming to win the Euroleague and that’s what I want too. I want to win and show first of all to me that I can find myself again on the court. I want to show everyone that last year’s Luka is no longer here!”

On his season with Panathinaikos: “For me personally, last year was very difficult. I had to adjust my game to playing a few minutes and sometimes none at all. To be honest, this was difficult for me. I had some injuries that made the coach’s decision not to use me easier. In general, I was very happy during my time at Panathinaikos. The decision I made to sign for Olympiacos was not to take some revenge.

I don’t want people to believe that. I was treated very well, we won everything and I left feeling good about everyone in the organization. My decision had to do with the fact that I love Greece and the way the people of Olympiakos approached me. He was different. They made me feel special. I spoke to the coach and felt really welcomed back into a team. This was very important. I had no doubt in my mind whether I should sign.”

On his expectations ahead of the new season: “My goals are very high. I chose Olympiakos for a reason. And that reason is to win it all! I will give my 100% and show my true self in a great team like Olympiacos. I can’t wait for the season to start.”

For Olympiakos fans: “We need your support! I, as an opponent, suffered in previous years. I know you are special. I hope you will continue to be by our side and we will do everything to give you joy and satisfaction by winning the Euroleague, the Championship and the Greek Cup”.
