Saric: “Greece is full of talent – It will be difficult, but we will fight it”

THE Hellas and the Croatian will face each other on Sunday (07/07, 21:00, ERT1) for a place in the Paris Olympics. THE Dario Saric talked about this upcoming big game and praised the “blue and white” and the talent it has on the roster.

For the Dominican Republic: “We expected them to be good, they have a fantastic coach and terrific guards, able to shoot off the dribble. We knew it would be a difficult game for us and in the end we were lucky that the last shot didn’t go in. It was a good game for us and now we have to prepare for tomorrow.”

For Greece: “Obviously they are the favorite in this tournament. They play fantastic basketball and have a very good coach. But in a game anything can happen. We have to have more energy and try to play good basketball to win. Greece will also have the help of its world, but we will try to play as hard as we can to get the victory.”

For Croatia’s goal of qualifying for the Olympics: “It’s been a while since our last Olympic appearance. Last time we played 4-5 games in Turkey and now we are playing in Greece. It will mean a lot to us and our younger players to qualify and have something to fight for. We will see what will happen”.

As for whether there is another player of our national team apart from Giannis who stands out: “Mitoglou is playing very well, Walkap and Kalathis are fantastic players, Papanikolaou has been at the top level for so many years, all the guards are good shooters, Papagiannis impressed with Fener. It won’t be an easy game for us, but I don’t think it will be easy for Greece either. I hope people enjoy the final and may the best man win.”
