Nikolas Papagelopoulos is back in the men’s volleyball team of Olympiakos. The “red and white” Erasitechnis announced the acquisition of the 36-year-old international center after a year’s absence, where he played for Panathinaikos.
In detail, the announcement:
“OLYMPIAKOS SFP announces the start of its collaboration with Nikolas Papagelopoulos. The Greek center (born 17/11/1988, 2.04m) signed his new contract and returns to the roster of the club’s men’s volleyball team.
It is the second term of Nikolas Papagelopoulos at Olympiakos. The 36-year-old center played in the red and white jersey and the 2022-23 season, winning the European title (Challenge Cup) and the championship. After one season (2023-24) at Panathinaikos, he returned to Thrylos.
The statement of Nikolas Papagelopoulos: “After one season I am returning to the team where I experienced moments that every athlete wants to have in his career. I know the club and the people who make it up, but most of all I know my team-mates and the atmosphere and that is something that makes me happy and looking forward to working with them again.
The cohesion of the team, since its core is almost absolutely the same as compared to the last two seasons, combined with the highly dynamic additions, is what we will ‘build’ on. I am sure that we will work hard and persevere on a daily basis to achieve our goals. Health to everyone and see you at Rentis.”
