Shocking message from Sven-Goran Eriksson to Southgate!

The former England coach (2001-06), who has revealed that is fighting a great “battle” with cancer about his life, he wrote an article in “Independent” (with Title: “Do it for me, Sir Bobby Robson and England“) ahead of the Euro final between the “three lions” and Spain.

THE Liverpool he had given him a great “gift” last March, as he gave him the opportunity to guide his beloved “reds” in a matchup of the club’s Legends against Ajax.

The next “gift” awaits Gareth Southgate and his players on Sunday night.

His message in detail:

The job of England coach brings a nice amount of pressure. You hear so much about 1966 and what Sir Alf Ramsay did and you know how great the expectations are for you to end those years of hurt.

I felt it. Sir Bobby Robson felt it. Every one of the 13 managers who succeeded Sir Alf would have felt it. None of us succeeded, but none came as close as Gareth Southgate.

Gareth is definitely the best English manager since Sir Alf. With a win in Berlin on Sunday, I believe he will be considered the best.

Gareth has learned from the mistakes we made, managed the mental blocking of penalties for accuracy – and went further than all of us.

Now, he, the players and the entire nation must know that England can win. If you believe in something it can happen and that includes beating Spain in the final.

Sunday’s final will be an open match and I think England have a very big chance.

And I might not feel well the last week, but I’ll be watching the game from home. I would love for England to win.

As would any of the managers who tried and failed to win a major trophy with England after 1966. Let’s go Gareth. Do what we couldn’t».
