Elon Musk, one of the richest people in the world, has donated money to a political organization that is working for the election of the Republican candidate for the presidency of the United States, Donald Trump, the Bloomberg news agency reported on Friday, citing its sources.
The agency did not specify the amount of the donation, however, it said that it was a “large amount” and that it was given to an organization called America PAC.
According to Bloomberg, the organization, which is legally allowed to raise unlimited funds, will reveal its list of donors on July 15.
The Republican’s campaign declined to comment.
Mr Trump, expected to be declared the presumptive Republican nominee ahead of next week’s November 5 election in Milwaukee, met with Mr Musk and other billionaires in March.
The South African-born head of companies such as Tesla, SpaceX and X (formerly Twitter) later assured that “to be very clear, I am not donating money to either candidate for the presidency of the United States.”
