Maria Camanio, who suffers from Ewing’s sarcoma (the second most common type of bone cancer in children and young adults), dreamed of one day meeting the Spanish national team up close, and captain Alvaro Morata called her on stage and gave her the trophy. The young girl raised the cup in awe of the most beautiful moment of the evening.
“We are glad you are here with us. We just play football, you on the other hand teach us all lessons every day. What it means to fight to live and what it means to be a real life superhero. Thank you all“, were the words of Morata, who is the favorite player of Maria, who is a friend of Atletico Madrid.
