The volleyball players of Panathinaikos “pressed” Taraflex again

In the first gathering ahead of the start of the new season at Mets’ indoor club, the Panathinaikos volleyball players were welcomed by the president, Panagiotis Malakate, the general captain, Sotiris Nikas, the athletic director, Sotiris Pantaleonta and Roulis Agrapidakis.

The preparation started with the following athletes: Athina Papafotiou, Maret Grothes, Natalia Metaxa, Manolina Constantinou, Katarina Jovits, Konstantina Vlahakis and the girls Venia Sfihti and Konstantina Angelopoulou.

Internationals Irini Chatziefstratiadou, Marianna Belia, Giorgina Antonakaki and Evangelia Tani will be integrated with the rest of the team when they complete their duties with the National team in the European Championship qualifiers, which also applies to Martina Samandan. Bogomila Biarda will also be integrated into the team in the coming days.

Dragan Nesic said: “I am very happy because we have very good Greek athletes on the roster and this is very positive. I feel that this team is not only built for this year, but also for the future. It is also positive that Grothes and Samandan remained on the roster. The new athletes, Jovic and Biarda, are young and talented. I think we have made good transfers, despite the difficulties that generally exist in the transfer part, as several players are now looking at America.

I think we have built a good team, but the most important thing is the presence we will have. We want to be competitive. The goal of Panathinaikos is always to star. My personal goal is to reach all the finals and claim titles. We participate in many competitions and the season will be long. I wish both my team and the rest of the teams good health, because if this is there, we can create the conditions and have the presence we want.”
