The first time Ivi Adamou met Michalis Quinelis she was only 15 years old and she participated as a contestant on the X-Factor where he made a guest appearance as a singer.

He was fascinated but they had no contact until a year later they got to know each other better on the occasion of their collaboration on the song “As the day comes” but again they were just partners. She herself was still too young for love and relationships but the chemistry was always there and two years later they became a couple and in 2018 the parents of a girl from the East who is their whole world.

The singer speaking to Xenia Ioannou and InStyle revealed a lot about her relationship with the man of her life and how they keep their love alive 12 years later.

-How much does the fact that you live in Alexandroupoli make your job, your daily life, your career difficult?

“It’s certainly not the easiest thing, but with proper organization and understanding from your people, everything is possible. I may struggle in general and travel a lot but it’s worth it.”

-What is love for you?

“Love in life is something inexplicable that when it happens to you there are no words to describe it. Only live it, take risks, smell it and wherever it takes you. It gives a crazy pulse to our being…”

-What is Michalis to you?

“My everything.”

-How do you keep a relationship alive for so many years?

“A relationship always needs, from both sides, effort, understanding, respect. As cliché as it sounds, it is very true. Also, mutual respect and admiration play a big role. When then there is chemistry, of course, and passion, the relationship takes off and with all of the above you manage to keep the flame burning. Because we all live for this flame.”

With their daughter, Anatoli

-What did Michalis have that won you over? What element of him did you distinguish from the first moment? Do you still remember how you felt when you first saw him?

“I admire many aspects of Michalis. What I felt when I first saw him, and later when I got to know him better, cannot generally be described in words. I loved the clarity in his eyes. His honesty, his incredible humor and how down-to-earth he is. He is a man full of emotions when he loves and knows very well how to show them with actions.”

-How is your relationship? What dominates? The laugh? The musical creative discussions? If we could peek what would we see?

“Many moments of laughter and a lot of humor and very personal and beautiful moments in the studio and with our little boy. But even in difficult times, always by each other’s side.”
