Seirekidis: “The many mistakes in the first half cost us”

Stelios Seirekidis pointed out that PAOK made nine mistakes in the first half against Olympiacos, congratulated his players for their effort and gave them a message for the future, while he asked for good preparation for the Handball Premier derbies against AEK and Olympiacos.

In detail: “In the first half we had nine passing errors, which makes it difficult for you to win a game like this. Mistakes cost a lot, especially in attack, so we lost our composure in defence, which was our strong point. Certainly, Olympiacos was better than us in many areas. We’re looking forward from here on out, it’s certainly not good to lose a title when you get the chance, but, beyond that, the effort from the lads was done and they deserve to be congratulated. We look to the future so we are ready for the games to come.

We start our obligations in the league, having Olympiakos at home and AEK away, these are two games which are very difficult for us. We will do our best, we have to prepare for these games so we can claim victory. The team is being rebuilt from scratch, as five players left, five players came, all key players, and that takes time, unfortunately. We will try to integrate them all quickly, so that we can get the results we want.”
