Olympiakos defeated Panathinaikos 3-1 in Rentis in the top derby of the 24th game of the Volley League and reduced to -3 its difference in second place from the team of Apostolos Oikonomou one game before the final of the regular season.
The “greens” were looking for two sets, they only got one and they want a point in the match of the last game of the regular season against PAOK in Thessaloniki to take the lead and gain the absolute home advantage in the playoffs until the final.
This was the second defeat for Panathinaikos in the championship, while Olympiakos remained undefeated in the second round and after the home defeat by AO Thira in the 12th game.
Carlo Paris’s team had the trio of Hippe, Salas, Agost on a great day. Panathinaikos did not find solutions in the service of its opponent and did not have a first year and a correct block.

With a new series, Olympiakos reached 22-18, but starring Papafotiou, Olympiakos with a series of 6-0 reached 22-24 and Hippe and Salas brought 26-24.
Panathinaikos led 5-2 with Grothes in the third set. Olympiakos reduced the point with Salas, but the “clover” reached 6-11 again with Grothe. Panathinaikos led 16-10 with Chatziefstratiadou and reached 20-12 and 21-16. With a block out of Hadava, it became 23-18 and we reached 2-1.
Olympiacos led 2-0 in the fourth set, but Panathinaikos tied with Cross. With Salas and Giota, the “red and whites” were ahead 9-6, 11-7 and 15-10. Hippe brought it 19-12 and with two consecutive points by August it became 3-1.
