Dubai BC President: “Our goal is to become a permanent member of the Euroleague”

OR Dubai BC will compete this year in Adriatic Leaguein an experiment which, if successful, will be a stepping stone for the club’s participation in the Euroleague in the coming years.

Something that the president of Dubai proclaims in every interview, Salem Bin Dashmalwho reiterated in his statements to “Mozzart Sport” that the team’s long-term goal is to become a member of the Euroleague and to be permanent in it.

For the staffing of the roster: “We chose the players we acquired very carefully. These are players whose quality, professionalism and talent match our vision. We’ve been watching them for a while so we’re sure we’ll make a good and competitive team».

Because the team will not play in the Eurocup this year: “We made the decision not to play in the Eurocup this year after much analysis. Although we really wanted to compete at this level, there were factors, mainly financial, but also team development, which influenced our final decision. We want to be sure that we will be absolutely ready for the highest level of Europe, before entering such an event. Rest assured that our main aim is to build a strong foundation, with the Eurocup and Euroleague on our radar for the future».

On whether he sees the team as a future member of the Euroleague: “Our goal is for the team to become a permanent member of the best league in Europe. We are determined to do whatever it takes, on and off the court, to get to that level. As for the rest of the teams in our region, we believe that with the right vision and determination, they can also enter European basketball. I believe the future is bright and even more teams can enter European basketball. We want to invest in talented players, attract as many fans as we can and grow as a club so that we become one of the great forces in the league».

For the goals: “Our first goal for next season will be to consolidate our presence in the Adriatic League and be competitive at the highest level. I want to see a team that keeps improving, builds a winning mentality and goes far in the playoffs. Beyond the results, I would like us to improve our facilities, develop talent and build a great relationship with the fans. In the coming years, I would like the team to grow, to constantly play in European competitions and to be recognized by the basketball world as a model of professionalism and success».
