Almeida: “Athens Kallithea has made it difficult for all teams – We played a good game, we lacked precision”

AEK squandered several chances and were held to a 0-0 draw with Athens Kallithea at Leoforo, with the Union suffering their second loss of points in this year’s Stoiximan Super League.

THE Matias Almeida stood during her press conference in the accuracy that his team lacked, but also in the impressive saves of the opposing goalkeeper when there was one.

At the same time, the Argentine commented on the many injuries to his team and what they mean ahead of the derby with him Panathinaikos the next matchday.

What he said in detail:

On the opportunities that AEK missed: “We did everything possible to win. The opponent has made things difficult for all teams. We created the chances to be able to score. When we were more precise it was the opposing goalkeeper and the rest of the actions lacked precision.”

For Mukudi who was injured and for the other injured: “Mukudi felt a discomfort and asked for a change. Rota was out with a virus. And the rest of the children are in the rehabilitation phase. We were forced to put Pineda at right back. Overall we played a good game. Obviously we wanted the victory, but so did the opponent.”

On what AEK must do to improve in the final effort: “When we talk about some phases in milliseconds we are talking about the self-confidence of each player. Sometimes they manage to find a goal, other times the ball goes close.”

For the derby with Panathinaikos that follows given the absences: “We will try to bring back players who are coming back from their injuries and put the best possible team on the field.”
