The three ambassadors of Women’s Eurobasket – “For every child who didn’t dare to dream”

On the sidelines of the joint presentation of its championships Women’s A1 and of the Elite League were presented three EuroBasket 2025 ambassadorswhich will be held in Greece. It’s about three legends of Women’s basketball, Annie Konstantinidou, Anastasia Kostakis and Evina Maltsis.

Annie Konstantinidou: “It is a great honor for our country to undertake this great event. I represent the older generation and I consider it our duty that this Eurobasket is not only for women, but to bring men, children, families to the court”.

Anastasia Kostakis: “I wish health to all athletes, have patience and strength, mental and physical. I want to thank Mr. Liolios for choosing me as an ambassador, it is a great honor and I am glad that we will do it together with two legends, great former basketball players. We want to inspire young children, transmit values ​​and join forces. We are united by the love of basketball.”

Evina Maltsi: “I am very happy about the federation’s initiative. Thank you for taking on this difficult task, we love what we do, we know how much our space hurts and we will do our best. We have competed in different cities in Europe with my teammates, but it is very important to play in your country, in front of your own audience and to know that in the stands a girl or even a boy can be inspired and dream by you and say the ‘play like her’. Greece is invited and we must follow the trend that exists for women’s basketball around the world. The big vision is to leave his mark on women’s basketball. Eurobasket is a message for every girl that she can follow what she wants and not listen to what they said to me ‘what a shame you are a girl and you can’t play in the Men’s national team’. For every girl and boy who didn’t dare to dream or who wanted to and didn’t find the right conditions, we want to show in 2025 that no child should be afraid of their dreams”.
