Olympiacos defeated Ethnikos in “Papastrateio” and won the Super Cup!

The first title of the women’s polo season was won on Thursday night (10/10) by Olympic!

In a competitive, strong, but also extremely high-quality game for the time, the “red and white” prevailed more difficult than the final shows 13-8 of Ethnikos Piraeus in “Papastrateio”, thus conquering it 2nd Women’s Super Cup on the Greek Cup winner.

It was Ethnikis who came into the final better, with Oresti Salaha’s side dominating the first eight minutes thanks to their excellent defense that blocked Olympiakos, ending the period at +3 for 4-1. The answer of the “red and whites” came in the second eight minutes, with Dimitris Kravaritis’ total keeping Ethnikos to zero (!), at the same time where, with 5 goals of his own, he closed the half in front of the score with 6-4.

From that point on, Olympiacos comfortably maintained the lead until the final, despite the efforts of Ethnikos to re-enter the contest. At the end of the fourth and last eight minutes, the hosts even increased the difference to +5 for 13-8, thus reaching the victory and winning the Super Cup.

He was also the second title of Olympiakos in the event in questionas, in the first Super Cup in the history of Women’s polo, which took place on October 3, 2020, the “red and white” had prevailed with Nireas Chalandrio’s impressive 30-4. In fact, he was also the 29th overall title in the history of Piraeus!

The first scorer for the winners was Stefania Santa with 5 goals, while the presence of the goalkeeper was also crucial, Maya Rycrow.

The eight minutes: 1-4, 6-4, 9-7, 13-8.
