Messi: “I wouldn’t want to be a coach – I still don’t know if I will compete in the 2026 World Cup”

Regarding the possibility of competing in the 2026 World Cup, he said: “I don’t know if I will play, many are asking me, especially in Argentina. I want to finish the season well and prepare well, which I couldn’t have last year because of all the injuries. From there I will see what happens and how I feel. A lot can be done in football. We still have a long way to go and I don’t think about it that much. I think day by day.”

And he finished: “People can remember me however they want. I am grateful for what I have accomplished. My biggest dream was to win the World Cup, something for which I fought for a long time and gave a lot of energy. I won everything with Barcelona and with the national team, I have a wonderful life and family and I thank God. I will let people remember me as they wish.”
