The world table tennis federation released the week #45 rating tables on Tuesday and Stamatouros, Sgouropolyos, taking 15 points each entering the round of 16 in Pristina, had a substantial rise.

Sgouropoulos quickly returned to the top 200 in the world and Stamatouros “climbed” almost 600 places. The WTT Feeder in Kosovo was the only rated event with Greek participation last week.

So, in the men’s table, Sgouropoulos moved to number 200. He went 16 places higher and now has a total of 81 points. He was also in the first 200 in October, while the overall improvement in his position since the beginning of the year is notable, since in the week of January 2024 he was at number 352.

His next race abroad will be at WTT Feeder II 2024 in Dusseldorf (18-22/11), where he will try to secure a points advantage there as well.

Stamatouros returned after some time to an international federation tournament and achieved his goal. Advancing two rounds in the singles, he was also placed in positions 9-16 of the WTT Feeder in Pristina. He got 15 points which gave him a huge boost because he had lost a lot of ground and was low in the world ranking.

With 16 points in total, it now appears at number 456 from 1,053 last week. It went up, that is, 597 places.
