OR KAE Panathinaikos AKTOR is now in its 11th year of participation in the Euroleague corporate social responsibility program, ONE TEAM, and has the pleasure of hosting for the 4th consecutive season the Special Olympics Greece.
The first training session of the program for the 2024/2025 season took place at midday on Monday (04/11), with the slogan #WeAreAllOneTeam echoing in its ancillary rooms OAKA.
THE Juancho Hernangometwho was named ONE TEAM Ambassador of last season, now shares the “sceptre”, in the role of ambassador, with Dimitris Moraitis and, with the active participation of all athletes, they have undertaken to pass on the… secrets of basketball and the values ​​of sports to the Special Olympics Hellas team.
In the first meeting, the team coach, Artemis Panagiextended a warm welcome and wished all athletes, coaches and volunteers a good and productive season.
The participants received their new t-shirts, specially designed for the program and tested their capabilities in new activities and interactive exercises. The above actions were “coordinated” by Juancho Hernangometh and Dimitris Moraitiswho were “present” to start this year’s… meetings with their inexhaustible energy, while doing the initial “tip-off”.
Aimed at its long-term support for people with mental disabilities, h KAE Panathinaikos AKTOR sets as the main goal of the program, to help participants recognize their strengths and potential, both as athletes and as members of society. For this reason and against the background of their transition into the working cycle, our team will attempt to contribute by giving them the corresponding opportunity.
In our training sessions for 2024/25, there will be more female athletes from the team of Special Olympic Hellaswhich reinforces our effort to promote gender equality.
