Osman: “There is a lot of talent in the team offensively, the issue is the defense”

Two days after the defeat by Olympiakos in the “eternal” European derby, o Panathinaikos AKTOR broke out on Peristeri winning with the impressive 104-68 for the 6th round of the Stoiximan GBL.

After the end of the match, Chedi Osman spoke to the ERT camera about the very good appearance of the “greens”, stressing among other things that offensively the “clover” is very good, while there should be improvement in defense.

For the victory over Peristeri: “We did a good job, especially in defense. It’s hard to concentrate after a tough game in the Euroleague. Everyone helped today, especially Kalaitzakis, who gave us energy. We are happy for the victory. Peristeri is a good team, we respect them, but we had to play a good game”.

For the attack and defense of Panathinaikos: “Last year even though I wasn’t in the team, when we won the championship we had our defense. We have to go back to the basics and one of our best elements is defense. There is a lot of talent on the team offensively. We put up 104 points, but the issue is defense. We may be good offensively, many teams in the Euroleague are good up front, but whoever plays better in defense gets the wins.”

For him: “I feel more comfortable with my role. My role is to bring energy and I like to play fast. I’ve been here for two months, I feel like a different player, I’m adapting and I’ll improve every day. The transition from the NBA was not easy. It’s nice to be back in the EuroLeague after 7 years in the NBA. I’m happy to be in a team with a rich history and I’m ready for more.”
