Match-parody in “D. Tofalos” with Greek basketball itself lost…
In a game that started at 17:00 and ended after 2 hours and 43 minutes, the Prometheus prevailed by a score 84-76 her AEK Betsson BC for the 7th matchday of the Stoiximan GBL, in a match that… tarnished the image of the sport and that everyone wants to forget.
The game was marked by many tensions, most of which took place off the court. In total there were three vacationsthe two of which lasted from 15 and 25 minutes respectivelywith the referees, Tsarouha, Tsolakos and Christinakis to leave for the locker room. The first tension started in the second quarter, when a man of Makis Angelopoulos allegedly cursed the referees, with the strongman of the “Union” asking the referees to speak in front of the secretariat.
In the second, which took place early in the fourth period, the referees stopped play and left for the locker room after five warnings to the Union fans for abusive chants against Vassos Tsarouha, asking her to immediate evacuation of the guest platform. During the departure of the friends of AEK, there were incidents with MAT forces, which forcefully pushed a portion of the crowd outside the enclosure, while a little later firecrackers also fell outside it.
As for the competition, which of course with what happened – unfortunately – came second, the home team went up to 4-3, having as the first scorer tonight the amazing Karagiannidis with 19 points and 10 rebounds, with Luntzi to add 18 points and 7 assists.
For the “yellow and black” who fell to 3-4, o Hunter Hale finished the game against his former team with 20 points and 8 rebounds.
The match:
THE Prometheus he was the one who entered the court very strongly, as a result of which he got the upper hand in the score from the very beginning of the match. With a goal-foul by Williams, as well as consecutive three-pointers by Chrysikopoulos and Ivudou, the Patrinoi took the lead with 9-2 in 2′. With Hale’s shots and Gray’s two-pointers, the AEK narrowed shortly after to 11-8. Ivudou’s three-pointer, as well as Chrisikopoulos and Walker’s points, brought the hosts at +8 (18-10) at 6′, with both teams missing a lot of shots the rest of the period. It is indicative that the quarter ended with score at 20-14, with the points of the last three minutes (2-4) all coming from the line of shots.
With two points by Kuzminskas and a shot by Walker for 21-16, the second periodbefore the match interrupted for about 15 minutes, at 8:39′ before halftime. The referees of the match asked for the removal of an AEK man from the field after a verbal attack they received, with the strong man of “Enos”, Maki Angelopoulosto go a little later to the secretariat and ask for an explanation from Mr. Christinaki. As a result, the dietary triad left for the locker roomwith the game starting shortly after, after Mr. Angelopoulos and a man who allegedly cursed the referees, were taken to the officials of the stadium.
At the restart of the match, AEK was the one that entered the floor better, as, thanks to the three points of Flionis and Hamp, but also the two points of Kuzminskas and Kouseloglou, they passed for first time in front of the score (25-26) at 14′. In fact, led by the Lithuanian forward with 6 points and RayQuan Gray with 5 points, his team Dragan Sakota held the lead until the end of the quarter, thus going into the locker room ahead of me score 37-35.
The pace was excellent third period, with the two teams constantly close to the score, at the time where there were many and strong battles for each possession of the ball. With an impressive nailing by Williams and his shots LuntziPrometheus led 39-37 in the first minute, before the Greek guard followed with seven straight points to send his team at +4 and 48-44 at 24′, the time when AEK saw him Hale find a rhythm and score six points. Chrysikopoulos and Williams made it 52-47 two minutes later, with the visitors reacting and tying the match (52-52) with five straight points by Kouseloglou. At that point, however, Ilias Papatheodorou’s team with an offensive outburst, managed to escape the score and build double-digit differences. Specifically, led by Karagiannidis who completely “quietly” scored 7 points, Prometheus ran a 15-3 run in the last three minutes and with Perry’s three-pointer in the final, closed the period at +12 and 67-55.
With Karagiannidis continuing to be “hot”, the fourth and final periodwith Prometheus reaching +14 and 69-55. Kuzminskas and Hamp with a quick 5-0 run, reduced it to 70-60 for AEK at 32′, and while earlier Dragan Sakota is sent off from the field with a second technical penalty. A minute later, Kuzminskas’ three-pointer dropped the difference below ten (72-63), with the referees charging the Lithuanian forward with a technical penalty in that phase, and he was sent off with 5 fouls. Somewhere there started the insulting slogans from the “Union” fans towards Mrs. Tsarouha and the referees, who also they demanded the evacuation of the stadiumtaking for the second time tonight on the way to the locker room.
After 25 minutes of stoppage time, in which they were incidents between MAT forces and a portion of followers of the “yellow and black” both on and off the field, with throwing firecrackers, the game finally resumed. Both teams, however, seemed affected by what sadly preceded them, with Prometheus maintaining a double-digit difference until the final, despite Hunter Hale’s efforts and big shots, with the visitors gathering the difference in the final for final 84-76.
The quarters: 20-14, 35-37, 67-55, 84-76.
