Gagatsis: “The matches against Scotland are a challenge – Proud of the progress of the national team”

Scotland will find themselves in the way of Greece, in their quest for promotion to League A of the Nations League. Our National Team will face Steve Clarke’s team, Scotland’s most successful coach in the last 20 years, in double matches in March 2025.

Ivan Jovanovitch commented on the draw, stressing that Greece’s goal is promotion, while for his part, the president of the EPO, Makis Gagatsissaid that the games against the Scots are a challenge for the National Team.

At the same time, he underlined that the course of the “blue and white” can already be judged as successful, while he also emphasized the fact that the world has reconnected with the National teamafter an absence of years.

The draw for our National Team fixtures against Scotland marks a new challenge and opportunity for our team to achieve promotion to League A. We are already proud of the performance of the National Team. Mainly, though, for the fact that he has reconnected with the world, which has recognized the effort and passion and embraced the group of players under the guidance of Ivan Jovanovic.

This draw is another step in our journey back to the major competitions, and we, as a Federation, will support the players and the coaching staff with all our might.
