Oto: “At home we should have had more points, maybe because we are stressed in Toumba”

Yoni Otto commented on the reaction shown by PAOK after the goal they conceded in yesterday’s game in Tripoli and found themselves behind in the score in his statements to metrosport after the end of the match. Among other things, the ace of the North Doubleheader pointed out that the harvest of his team at home should be better, underlining that this may be due to the fact that there is more stress in the games in Toumba.

– How did the turnaround in the score against Asteras come about and how do you judge the image of the team after Makeda’s goal?



“It was a tough game and it got even tougher when we fell behind. We wanted the win and we knew how important it was to win. We were coming from a difficult situation that had developed in the previous days after negative results. But we didn’t give up. We were better both before and after the goal we conceded. We got a win that will help us take a step forward. We deserved the victory and we gave everything to get the three points. Now we have to put this match behind us and turn to Thursday’s game which is very crucial for the continuation in Europe”.

– How does he explain the differences in the results of the team, in home and away games in the Championship?



“It’s hard to explain. At home we deserved to have more points than we already have. Maybe this is because we have more stress at home to play more aggressively. Our opponents find spaces to play us on the counter attack. We have to be ready for everything and find ways to put ourselves in front of the score. This year we are not so efficient in scoring especially in home games. When you’re ahead in a game you can do different management in general. The key to start winning in Toumba is for us to score the first goals and bring the games to our own devices.”

– How does he judge his appearance?



“The most important thing is the image of the team and the victory. That was the goal for us. I’m happy that I was able to help the team to win the three points.”

– About his future given that from January he enters the last half of his contract with PAOK?



“I don’t want to talk about my future right now. I am dedicated to what is happening today, but also to the next game. The most important thing is to improve in terms of results.”

– If he has made contact with the official PAOK for the new contract?



“No, nothing has been done, I think it’s still quite early. The important elements for me are to respond properly to training and matches. That’s where I focus my attention. As for the new contract, we still have enough time to discuss it.”

– What must PAOK do to win the game – final against Riga in Latvia?



“This is another important match, perhaps the most important of the season so far as far as Europe is concerned. We need the win to have hopes of continuing in the competition and we will go to Latvia to get the first three points in the Europa League because we want to stay within our target and in Europe”.
