Acropolis Cup 2025: Georgiadou’s 10th place, 33rd Gudura

Individual matches at the 39th World Women’s World Cup in Heraklion were completed with Greek champions making remarkable performances.

This year’s Acropolis Cup is co -organized by EX, FI and the Region of Crete at the Nea Bodrum Indoor Gymnasium “The Two Aorakia”. On Friday, March 7th, March 7th, the female races were held with some of the world’s top athletes giving this present. Eleven Greek women fought on the slopes, nine in the qualifying round, and the two leading, Georgiadou and Goudoura, on the main board.

Anna Geronikou (AS Victoria), Katerina Latina (AO Shield), Anika Tsapatsaris (AE Apollo Vrilissia), Agni Palaska (Lygas Pentelis), Evanga Penteli (Apollo Apollo), Ao Ao Heraklion).

Georgiadou imposed her own pace in her first match against Koreatissa Giyon Seo (Fie No50) and won 15-7. He then comfortably passed the obstacle of French Malina Vongsavadi (Fie No37) in the 32nd round, but at the battle for the quarter-finals he was defeated by Hungarian Lisa Pusty (Fie No14) with 15-8. After the completion of the 16th round, he finally won 10th place in the event.

At the same time, Gudura bent in the first round against the particularly strong 20 -year -old Chinese Sueja Rao (Fie No69). Chinese took the lead from the beginning and the Greek woman had the calm to recover by 14-13, but Rao took the crucial point she was looking for and excluded Thanassis Duka’s athlete from her 64th round.

Misaki Emura from Japan was the big winner of the individual matches. The Bulgarian Joana Ilieva followed and the third stairs were shared by French Sarah Nucca and Hungarian Sugar Katinka Batay. The matches continue with the team starting on Sunday, March 9 at 12:00. Greece will compete with the quadruped of Georgiadou, Goudouras, Mavrikaki and Kouroussi.
