by

THE Novak Djokovic He continues his course to the 25th Grand Slam of his career as he prevailed 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 Taylor Fritz and qualified to the semifinals of US OPEN 2025.

With this victory, the Serbian champion reached the 11-0 against the American and secured him 53rd semifinal in Major and 14th in New York. In a hostile Arthur Ashe, Djokovic once again showed his durability and experience, despite the fact that Fritz pressed in the third set.

The first set was spectacular, with Djokovic getting a break early and closing it at 6-3 after an epic last game that lasted more than ten minutes. In the second, Fritz equalized to 5-5, but two double mistakes of the American gave the Serb an advantage again, which also got the set with 7-5.

Fritz reacted to the third, raising pace and closing the set 6-3, but Djokovic found solutions in the fourth. With a break at 6-4 he “sealed” the qualification and showed ready for the big battle with Carlos Alcarath.

The 38-year-old Serb leads 5-3 in each other, having prevailed in the last two matches. Their duel on Friday at Flushing Meadows will be the first in New York, in a game that is expected to capture the public.
